Beatrice High School students were recognized during a Board of Education meeting for being named academic all-state recipients.
Students were either named academic all-state by the Nebraska School Activities Association, who admits two students from each sport or organization with a 3.7 GPA or higher, or the Lincoln Journal Star, who admits juniors or seniors with a 3.6 GPA or higher and are nominated by their coach.
Neal Randel, the activities director at the high school, announced each student named all-state to the board, and explained that some students were named by both organizations.

"Really some outstanding students," Randel said. "Obviously they do well in activities. This is evidence that they do well academically, too. Certainly proud of them."
