Dr. Jennafer Glaesemann of Beatrice, Nebraska, was honored for her dedication to the veterinary profession with the “Outstanding Young Veterinarian” award for 2014, by the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association, during the banquet at their 119th Annual Convention in Omaha Jan. 22, 2015.

Glaesemann received her DVM from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She is the sole owner of Blue Valley Veterinary Clinic in Beatrice and the Pickrell Veterinary Clinic in Pickrell.

“I first met Jennafer in 2011 and from the time I met her, I have always been impressed with her engagement, passion, and drive to deliver the best medical care to her patients and their owners,” said Mandy Monson, Assistant Vice President at Union Bank & Trust. “Jennafer is not just a Veterinarian but is a true entrepreneur and community steward," Monson said.

Glaesemann has been active in several professional and community programs, including AVMA Future Leaders Program, AABP Animal Welfare Committee, AVMA Animal Welfare Committee, Youth Chair, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Homestead Chapter, and Youth Director at Faith Lutheran Church.

Glaesemann is in the process of forming The Young Veterinary Owners non-profit organization to mentor early veterinarians as new practice owners. This organization will provide resources to new graduates so that they can overcome the traditional obstacles of building their own practices such as high debt to income ratios from students loans. This mentorship will give them resources to achieve financial stability in conjunction with a career as a practice owner.

“Dr. Glaesemann is a great candidate for this award. She is a stellar example of how success can be achieved with determination and grit.” Monson said.
