A man was arrested by Beatrice police after reports of committing multiple assaults this weekend.
At around 9:30 p.m. Sunday Beatrice police responded to an alleged assault involving a firearm.
41-year-old Frank Otega allegedly brandished a loaded firearm, threatening to shoot people.
Oretega arrived at the residence with another man and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Leaving two children, ages 1 and 3, in the vehicle.
Once in the residence, he allegedly began assaulting female victim in front of her 14-year-old son. He grabbed the gun when he became aware the victim called 911.
The gun was concealed when police arrived, and found to have a round loaded in the chamber and another 30 rounds in the magazine.
Oretega was arrested for terroristic threats, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, third-degree domestic assault, two counts child abuse and carrying a concealed weapon.
Arrest documents state the victim told police she was in the home of Ortega two days ago when they got into an earlier argument.
The victim reported that Ortega became upset with her and she wanted to leave the residence, but he wouldn’t let her leave.
He allegedly restrained her on the bed for nearly an hour while Ortega assaulted her. Several bruises were observed on the victim, including her triceps, chin neck and chest, arrest documents noted.
Ortega was already in jail for the initial offenses, and faces additional possible charges of false imprisonment and third-degree domestic assault.
