A Beatrice man was arrested Saturday after allegedly choking a woman and assaulting a man in a home in the 1300 block of Scott Street.
Zachary Askew, 27, was arrested Saturday for domestic assault, strangulation and third-degree assault.
The female victim alleged that she was in an upstairs room with Askew and asked him to leave the residence. She told police he became angry because he did not want to leave then grabbed her around the neck with both hands and slammed her head up against a door in the home and choked her.
A male guest in the home who was downstairs at the time told police they heard what sounded like a slap and went upstairs. Once upstairs, the male victim told police that Askew charged at them “like a football tackle” and grabbed the victim’s testicles. In the scuffle to get Askew under control the male victim received a small abrasion to his right elbow that was bleeding and Askew received a scratch on his neck. Officers also observed blood on the male victim’s shirt.
