Four arrests were made Monday afternoon in connection to a lengthy investigation into drug distribution in Beatrice.
At around 3 p.m. on Monday, Beatrice Police, Gage County Sheriff’s deputies and members of a state narcotics team served a search warrant on an apartment at 1700 Park Street in Beatrice.
The warrant was obtained after months of investigation that resulted in 10 arrest warrants as part of Operation Claim Staked, a narcotics investigation that culminated in multiple arrests Monday.
Upon serving the warrant, authorities found 1.9 grams of methamphetamine laying on a coffee table in the living room, along with a needle that was in a purse on the floor.
Also in the apartment was a 2-year-old child, who a press release stated was within reach of the drugs and needle.
Four adults in the residence allegedly admitted to smoking methamphetamine in the apartment while the child was present.
The adults, who were all placed under arrest, included Anthony J. Campbell, 48, Heidi L. Kopf, 38, Toke T. DeKoning, 33 and Darla J. Little, 60. DeKoning is a Pawnee City resident, while the other three live in Beatrice.
All four were arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, child abuse and exposing methamphetamine to a child.
Little was also arrested for distribution of methamphetamine.
Other arrests this week related to the drug investigations have included Dawn Meyer, Phillip Olin, Christopher Simpson, Wade Padgett, Sara Rehm and Austin Meyn, with more arrests expected.
