Billy C. Simmons
Former Hastings resident, Billy C. Simmons, 76, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 at Sumner Place Nursing Home in Lincoln, Neb.
Memorial graveside services will be held at the Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha, Neb. at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation, as cremation has already taken place. Memorials may be sent to family. Private condolences may be sent to family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.
Billy was born on June 21, 1941 in Clarksville, Va. to Richard Franklin and Jessie Belle (Wilson) Simmons. Billy served in the U.S. Air Force from September 1960 to March 1964 when he moved to Hastings, Neb.
Billy worked for the Hastings Police Department and Adams County Sheriff's Department for many years and also attended various law enforcement classes and seminars.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Jessie L. Simmons; his granddaughter, Amber Utter; five brothers; three sisters; and his great-granddaughter, Khloie Ewing.
He is survived by his daughter and her spouse, Gina and Craig Stevens of Beatrice; his son his spouse, Michael and Julie Simmons of Hastings; his grandchildren, Jennifer Lucas, Kora Simmons, LaRenda Simmons, all of Beatrice, and Quinn M. Simmons of Hastings; his great-grandchildren, Callie Lucas, Dakota Lucas and Dominik Ewing; his sisters, Marquitta Christopher of Colonial Heights, Va., Elizabeth Vaughn of Matoaca, Va. and Lucille Harris of Macon, Ga.
