David A. Hasse

David A. Hasse, 19, of Minden, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 near Kenesaw as the result of a motor vehicle accident. David was born on February 4, 2000 in Beatrice to Allen D. and Katherine K. (Watson) Hasse. He later moved to Minden where he graduated with the Minden High School class of 2019. He was currently attending Central Community College in Hastings where he was studying to become a Physical Education Teacher. David was the youngest of eight siblings. He was a “gentle giant” with a heart of gold. He always put others first and was willing to help anyone in need. He was active in football, track, wrestling and the Minden Teammates Program. He enjoyed hunting, shooting sports, and playing pickle ball. David was dedicated in his work at Pizza Hut, Tomsen Farms, and Hagan Detasseling, just to name a few. Most importantly, he touched the hearts of anyone he met through his personal motto to “Be Hasse Kind”.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Kathy Hasse of Minden; siblings, Lonnie (Becki) Watson of Minden, Mike (Lois) Maguire of Hastings, Dena Maguire and Chris Morris of Minden, Derek (Amanda) Maguire of Omaha, Keanna Maguire of Minden, London (Trish) Maguire of Beatrice, and Dylan Ruh of Minden; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Hasse; maternal grandparents, Harvey and Elsie Watson, and paternal grandparents, Lyle and Corrine Hasse.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with the Rev. Christopher Hazzard officiating. Private family inurnment will be held later at the Fairbury Cemetery. Memorial book signing will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the Craig Funeral Home in Minden. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Tributes of memory can be shared with the family www.craigfunerals.com.
