Kristin C. Woodyard
Kristin C. “Kris” Woodyard, 45 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at her home Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017. She was born on Jan. 25, 1972 in Fairbanks, Alaska to Dennis and Karen (Verno) Vicars. Kris was a 1989 graduate of Beatrice High School and received her LPN degree from Southeast Community College in Beatrice. She had worked as an LPN at various places in Beatrice, and had also worked at Ace Hardware and Holiday Inn Express. She enjoyed scrapbooking, painting and especially enjoyed cooking. She had received several local cooking awards. Kris had an infectious laugh, was always smiling and loved to play jokes on people.
Survivors include her companion, Tom McCabe, and his daughter, Taylor, and her son, Lyric, all of Beatrice; her son, Trent Beach and wife, Jennifer, of Lincoln; her daughter, Jacey Woodyard of Beatrice; her grandson, Carsen Beach and his mother, Shelbi, of Beatrice; her mother, Karen Kramer and husband, Randy, of Crab Orchard; her father, Dennis Vicars and wife, Diane, of Pickrell; her sisters, Monica Knobel and husband, Brian, of Beatrice and Jaime Vicars of Lincoln; her grandmother, Eleanor Vicars of Martell; and her half-brothers, Matthew Vicars of Chicago and Derek Vicars of Pickrell. Kris was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Beach (March 2017); and her grandparents, Lester Vicars and Jim and Thelma Verno.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at the West Side Baptist Church in Beatrice, with Jon Palmquist officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, with the family greeting friends from 6:30-8 p.m. and at the church for one hour preceding the services on Saturday. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church. A memorial has been established to the family's choice, with the funeral home in charge.
