Larry C. Nave, 75, of Beatrice, died at his home on Sunday, May 3, 2015. He was born on July 20, 1939 at Fairbury and graduated from Fairbury High School. He served two years in the United States Navy. He moved to Beatrice in 1973 and worked at Beatrice State Developmental Center and did taxidermy on the side. He later became a licensed taxidermist. On July 4, 2000, he married Patricia Boerger Johnsen at Beatrice. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Pat of Beatrice; one daughter, Kim Browning and husband Dean of Alta Loma, Calf.; two stepsons, Timothy Johnsen of Crab Orchard and Jeremy Johnsen of Beatrice; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons and step-great-grandson; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Inez Daug Nave; daughter, Michelle Hess, who died in 1996; grandson, Stevie Hess, who died in 1993; nephew, Shawn (Boomer) Lattimer; parents-in-law, Robert and Betty Boerger; brother-in-law, Steven Huffman Boerger.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice with Pastor Douglas D. Irmer officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the Fairbury Cemetery of Fairbury. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home until time of services on Wednesday. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice. Military graveside honors will be conducted by VFW Post #3113 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Fairbury.
