LeRoy Albert Koehler
LeRoy Albert Koehler, 74, of Marysville, KS, was born on November 21, 1944, in Humboldt, NE to Clarence and Hulda (Alberts) Koehler. He was raised on the family farm near Humboldt and attended country school. LeRoy graduated from Bratton Union Consolidated High School with the class of 1963. He then continued his education attending Peru State College where he received a degree in Business Education. LeRoy then moved to Blue Rapids, KS where he taught at Valley Heights High School which was located between Blue Rapids and Waterville, KS. On August 14, 1976, LeRoy was united in marriage to Linda Glathar at the United Methodist Church in Humboldt, NE. The couple moved to Marysville, KS where LeRoy sold life insurance and farmed part-time. He then went back to school and earned a Master's Degree in Administration from Kansas State University. LeRoy then started doing tax preparation for a couple in Marysville and later bought the business from them. It was while owning his own business that LeRoy started filling in as a lay minister for the Church of Christ in Beatrice, NE. He later became the full-time minister and served the Church of Christ for the last twenty years.
LeRoy went to be with his Lord on Friday, July 26, 2019, at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln, NE having reached the earthly age of 74 years, 8 months and 5 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Delbert McMurray.
Those left to mourn LeRoy's passing are his loving wife Linda, Marysville, KS; sisters: Marleen Mehlin (Merle), Humboldt, Lorna McMurray, Adams, Celma Higgins (Phil), New Virginia, IA; sister-in-law Donna Koehn, Humboldt, brothers-in-law: Roger Glathar (Carol), Humboldt, Charlie Glathar (DeAnn), Humboldt, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2019, at the Church of Christ, 924 Grant Street in Beatrice with Rick Eldred officiating. Graveside service: 2:30 p.m. Humboldt Cemetery, Humboldt.
