Nellie Mae Hunnicutt, 72, of Beatrice, died Friday November 16, 2018 at a Lincoln hospital. She was born on February 11, 1946 at Pawnee City and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1964. She lived in Barneston and was a member of the Catholic Church. She married Wesley Hunnicutt on February 22, 1992 at St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice and they lived in Beatrice. She worked for Mosaic and CRT Telecommunications for many years. She enjoyed her grandchildren and pet dogs, and had a “green” thumb.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley Hunnicutt of Beatrice; daughters, Holly Diltz of Beatrice, Rayma (Andrew) Volkmer of Wymore, and Maria (Ash) Short of Burlington, KS; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Larry (Marian) Shaw of Pickrell; nieces and nephews; best friend, Linda Osborn. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Merle Shaw Knight.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Fox Funeral Home with Clayton Lundstedt officiating. Inurnment of the cremains will be at the Mission Creek Cemetery of rural Liberty. A memorial has been established to the Beatrice Humane Society.
