William R. “Bill” Boyce, 87 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Friday morning, February 22, 2019. He was born in Omaha on August 23, 1931 and came to Beatrice in 1950 as an announcer with KWBE Radio. Bill later formed a partnership and purchased the station, selling it in 1959. He and his wife owned and operated Collection Associates for 43 years.
He was a member of the First Mennonite Church. Bill was active in many civic affairs including serving on the board of directors of the Beatrice Community Hospital and the Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation; Gage County Board of Supervisors; Beatrice Library Foundation; Beatrice National Bank board of directors; Sesostris Temple of the Shrine; and Beatrice Rotary Club.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and her husband. He is survived by his wife Margaret; son Mark Boyce and wife Lisa, and his two grandchildren Alyssa and Liam, all of Canton, Ohio.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the First Mennonite Church, R. Beatrice. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation. Family prayer service will be held at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the church. Memorial to the Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation and the Beatrice Humane Society with the funeral home in charge.
