Authorities say human remains found 2 miles south of Beatrice in September belong to Edward Parker, a Beatrice man missing since June.

Gage County Coroner Roger Harris and Gage County Sheriff Millard "Gus" Gustafson announced the findings today in a Gage County Attorney's Office press release.

A forsensic dental oral autospy conducted by Dr. John Filippi identified the remains as Parker's, the press release stated.

Parker, 37, was last seen in Beatrice around June 1. In the weeks following, authorities pursued Parker's last cellphone trace from an area just south of Beatrice. A K-9 unit and drones were also used as part of a search party.

On Sept. 20, a Gage County resident came upon human remains while walking in a rural area south of Beatrice near West Locust Road. The resident called the sheriff's office and later led a deputy and investigator to the remains.

No cause of death was found by the autopsy and no foul play is indicated at this time, the release stated.
