Water levels on the Big Blue River are slowly going down.
That's good news for commuters around Beatrice as officials were able to reopen the South 6th Street Bridge Sunday evening well ahead of the Monday morning work commute.
Beatrice's Incident Management Team made the decision to close the west Court bridge early Friday and by Saturday the south 6th Street bridge was also closed.
Beatrice Public Schools were closed Friday due to routes being unsafe to travel on. Beatrice Public Schools were on a two hour delay Monday to give families and buses enough time to account for road closures or possible delays due to flooding.
