Bonnie Sisco

Bonnie Sisco, a member of Beatrice DUV, has been elected President of the Nebraska Department of Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. She received the honor at the state convention held in Lincoln on April 25-27.

Sisco has been a member of Beatrice tent since 2007.

Other members of the local chapter, Ida Mckinley Tent 26, to serve at the state level include Bonnie Sisco, secretary; Mary Beth Tuttle Jr., Vice President, Charlotte Aspegren, Registrar; and Lowanna Laflin, Council.

The Daughters of Union Veterans was organized Memorial Day, May 30, 1885, and received its U.S. charter on Dec. 9, 1985.

Their mission is to spread the teachings of patriotism and to perpetuate the memory, deeds and loyalty of those ancestors who sacrificed in the struggle to preserve the Union and establish freedom for everyone.
