Beatrice police arrested a woman for multiple drug offenses following a traffic stop Friday morning.
Just after 2 a.m. Friday Beatrice police conducted a traffic stop on a bronze Oldsmobile with no license plates in the 1200 block of Scott Street. The driver was identified through the window as Zowie Askew, and while standing at the passenger window arrest documents state police could see a smoking device in the center console. The liquid in the device was yellow and appeared to be concentrated THC.
Askew allowed the officer to look at the device, arrest documents state, and said the substance was vape oil. The substance tested positive for THC.
She allegedly gave police a small bag and a pink envelope.
The bag had two baggies of marijuana weighing 4.24 ounces total, two sandwich bags of psilocybin mushrooms weighing 2.17 ounces and 10 refills for the smoking device. Multiple empty baggies, a scale, red pipe, grinder and other paraphernalia was also inside of the bag. She allegedly told police the items were not all for personal use.
Askew was placed under arrest for two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of more than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
