Beatrice police arrested a woman for drug possession following a Monday morning traffic stop.
At around 10 a.m. a Beatrice police officer saw a red Ford Explorer traveling eastbound in the 1100 block of West Court Street that had expired tags.
According to arrest documents, the officer conducted a traffic stop and issued a citation to the driver, 55-year-old Ronda K. Thompson.
Following the stop the officer asked if Thompson had anything illegal in the vehicle and was asked to turn out her pockets after stepping out of the vehicle.

Documents state when she did, a small baggie was found with a crystal residue inside.
The bag was field tested, and indicted the substance was methamphetamine.
After being placed under arrest Thompson gave the officer a red straw from inside her pants that appeared to have white residue as well.
She was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
