The Nebraska American Legion Junior Area Tournaments are slated to begin on Friday.

The Beatrice Neapco Juniors will be competing in the B4 Area Tournament in Crete. Beatrice is the No. 3 seed and they will play fourth-seeded Lincoln Christian at 3 p.m. on Friday.

With a win, they would play at 8 p.m. on Saturday against the winner of second-seeded Fairbury and fifth-seeded Crete.

The other first round game in the B4 Area Tournament will pit first-seeded York against sixth-seeded Seward.

The tournament is scheduled to last through Tuesday with the winner advancing to the Class B State Tournament in McCook.

Hickman is hosting the B1 Juniors Area Tournament. They are the second seed and they'll play fifth-seeded Lincoln Hotel Group at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

With a win, Hickman would play the winner of third-seeded EMN and fourth-seeded Auburn at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The other two teams in the B1 bracket are top-seeded Nebraska City and sixth-seeded Falls City.

Wymore will be hosting the C4 Juniors Area Tournament, which also starts on Friday.

Top-seeded Tri County will play sixth-seeded Adams Sterling at 3 p.m. on Friday. Third-seeded Tecumseh will play fourth-seeded Hebron at 5:30 p.m. and second-seeded Syracuse will play fifth-seeded Wymore at 8 p.m.

The winner of the C4 Area Tournament will advance to the Class C Juniors State Tournament, which is being hosted by Tri County. Since Tri County is hosting, they'll qualify for state regardless of where they finish in the area tournament.

If Tri County wins the area tournament, the runner-up in C4 would also advance to state.

The Class B and C State Tournaments will take place July 20-24.
