Norris kept its baseball season alive on Tuesday, defeating Mount Michael 5-4 in the consolation bracket of the Class B state baseball tournament at Papillion's Fricke Field.
Tyler Monroe doubled in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the third-ranked Titans (19-10) a one-run lead, and Colby Behrends closed the door on Mount Michael's season with two strikeouts in the seventh.
Norris tagged the Knights for three runs in the first inning, led by Grant Gouldin's two-out double that plated two runners. The Titans, with Bryson Schultz on the mound, stayed in command until the sixth inning.
Mount Michael capitalized on a Norris error, scoring two runs to tie the game. The following inning, Monroe roped his two-out, game-winning double to center field to give the Titans the victory.
Norris played at 7 p.m. against Hastings Wednesday night at Werner Park in Omaha. That game was not over by press time.
With a win, the Titans would play at 10 a.m. on Thursday against Bennington -- the team that issued them their first loss in the tournament. If they win that, they'd play in the championship game immediately after against Hastings.
A loss in any of those games would end Norris' season.
