The Beatrice girls basketball team is the top seed in the River Cities Conference Tournament and they had little trouble getting past Omaha Duchesne in the first round Monday night.
The Lady O defeated Omaha Duchesne 67-26 at the Ozone in Beatrice. With the win, Beatrice will host fourth-seeded South Sioux City on Thursday.

Beatrice jumped out to a 19-10 lead over Duchesne in the first quarter and led 41-16 at half time. They led 63-20 after three quarters and with a running clock in the fourth quarter, they coasted to the 67-26 win.
Mak Hatcliff led the way for Beatrice with 19 points while Olivia Aden had 15 points and Carley Leners had 11 points.
Addie Barnard had seven points, Chelsea Leners had five points, Navaeh Martinez and Morgan Mahoney had four points each and Lexi Schwartz had two points.
Beatrice is now 9-2 on the season. If they win on Thursday, they would play in the championship game on Saturday. Since they are the top seed, they will be hosting all of their games.
