The Southeast Community College women's basketball team fell to Gogebick Community College in Ironwood, Michigan on Saturday.
The Lady Storm lost 94-82 in the district championship game, ending their season after posting a 12-19 record.
SCC scored 82 points despite just being 5 of 31 from three point range. GCC forced the Storm into 25 turnovers in the game.
In the first quarter, Gogebic jumped out to a 19-16 lead and was able to extend that lead to 48-39 at half time.
They continued to add to that lead in the second half. They led 76-61 after three quarters. SCC did outscore GCC 21-18 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough.
DeAsia Walker led the way for the Lady Storm with 23 points and 14 rebounds. she was 9 of 16 from the field and 3 of 7 from the three point line.
Marcia Hawkins was also in double figures with 17 points and was 8 of 10 from the field while Morgan Frauendorfer came off the bench to score 13 points.
Other scorers for SCC was Sebit Gatluak with seven points, Kaitlyn Harrison with six points, Sierra Leeper with five points, Emily Zvolanek and Madison Hajek with four points each and Erika Goracke with three points.
SCC did outrebounded Gogebic 57-54 in the game and had eight blocked shots. Gogebic had 12 steals compared to SCC's nine steals.
Gogebic had just seven players and Lori Wardynski had 33 points while Bailey Froberg had 26 points.
It was the final game for four SCC sophomores. Sebit Gatluak, Erika Goracke, Marcia Hawkins and DeAsia Walker all wrapped up their SCC careers on Saturday.
