The Southeast Community College women's basketball team took care of Southwestern Community College 73-48 on Saturday.

The Lady Storm's Breanna Grant and Dionne Martin both had double-doubles in the game. Grant led all scorers with 22 points and 10 rebounds and six steals while Martin added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Veshae Wilkinson added 12 points. Chelseah Savage had five assists in the game and the Lady Storm shot 45 percent from the floor as a team.

"Every player scored and this was a great team win going into the holiday break," said Lady Storm Coach Vicki Wooton.

The SCC women are now 8-5 on the season.

The Southeast Community College men lost against Southwestern 93-75.

"We again struggled with foul trouble and turnovers," said Coach Joel Wooton. "We trailed by 16 at the half, battled back to within six and then a couple of turnovers allowed them to extend the lead back out."

The Storm are now 6-10 on the season. They are also on holiday break now and will play against on Jan. 7 at home against Johnson County CC.
