Seth Maxon's three pointer with about 40 seconds left ended up being the game winner for Exeter-Milligan Saturday in the MUDECAS B Division Championship game.

Southern's Trevin Saathoff was able to drive baseline and get a tough shot up just before the buzzer rang, but the shot missed its mark, preserving the 35-34 win for the Timberwolves.

The win capped a perfect week for Exeter-Milligan, as they beat Meridian, Johnson County Central and Southern on their way to the championship.

The championship game was back and forth throughout the game, with m any lead changes.

Trevin Saathoff knocked down a three pointer and then followed it up with another basket to give Southern a 5-0 lead. He then answered an Exeter-Milligan basket with a fast break layup to make it 7-2.

Exeter-Milligan closed the first quarter with a three pointer to make it 7-5 after one.

Drake Adams hit two free throws to open the second quarter, but a three pointer by the Timberwolves made it 9-8.

After another basket by Saathoff, Exeter-Milligan answered with a three point play to tie the game 11-11.

Southern would got on a 7-0 run from there to make it 18-11. Adams had the first five points of the run while Carson Borzekofski finished it off with a fast break layup.

Exeter-Milligan scored one more time before the half to make it 18-13.

Exeter-Milligan started the third quarter with six straight points to tkae a 19-18 lead.

Braden Klover ended the run with a putback basket and Adams and Saathoff followed that up with a putback basket each to extende the Southern lead to 24-19.

Exeter-Milligan ended the run with a basket. After a made jumper by Borzekofski, the Timberwolves finished the third quarter with four straight points to make it 26-25.

Exeter-Milligan started the fourth quarter on a 4-0 run to take a 30-26 lead. Saathoff answered with a basket, but Eric Olsen came back with a putback basket for Exeter-Milligan to make it 32-28.

Three pointers by Adams and Nick Lyons gave Southern a 34-32 lead, but Maxon's three late three pointer gave Exeter-Milligan the win.

Maxon led the way for Exeter-Milligan with 14 points while Eric Olsen had eight, Patrick Murphy had five and Max Zeleny and Spencer Pribyl had four each.

Saathoff led the way for Southern with 13 points while Adams had 12, Borzekofski had four, Lyons had three and Klover had two.
