The Johnson County Central boys golf team qualified for the Class C State Tournament.

The Thunderbirds finished second in the C-1 District, which was hosted by Woodland Hills Golf Course.

JCC's score of 354 was bested only by Lincoln Christian's 353. They finished ahead of third place Lincoln Lutheran, who finished with a score of 360. The top three teams from each district advance to staet.

Eli Waring led the way for JCC, finishing second individually with a score of 79. Kyle Luebbe of Lincoln Lutheran won the individual championship with a score of 77.

JCC's Tyler Bartels earned a fourth place medal with a score of 83 while Kole Kleespies earned a 10th place medal with a score of 91.

Rounding out the scoring for JCC was Tanner Kerner with a 101 and Sam Buss with a 117.

One more Sunland golfer reached the Class C State Tournament. Southern's William Stanosheck qualified individually with a 10th place score of 91.

The Class C State Golf Tournament will take place Tuesday and Wednesday at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course in Kearney. 

JCC joins two other Sunland teams to reach the postseason. Norris and Beatrice advanced to state in Class B after finishing first and second in the B-1 District at Beatrice Country Club. 

The Class B Tournament takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday at Elks Country Club in Columbus.
