Beatrice High School hosted a Power Lifting Invitational on Saturday at the Ozone.
The Beatrice boys team came away with a first place finish while the girls team took second. Beatrice also finished first as a co-ed team.
Individual champions include Jeff Sullinger, Christian Heil, Corey Rzekonski, Andrew Suiter, Maddy Jackson, Courtney Fujan and Sydney Weirich.
The Beatrice boys team got second place finishes from Logan Hunzeker, Colton Kelle and Xavier Smith; third place finishes from Dakota Adams, Collin Leesberg and Colton Husa; fourth place finishes from Kieran Hornbeak and Adam Riekenberg and a fifth place finish from Chiristan Borzekofski.
The girls team got second place finishes from Brittney Ruh and Britney Hovendick and a third place finish from Cheyenne Jurgena
The boys team finished with 50 points, which put them ahead of Lexington's 43 points. Columbus Scotus finished third with 30 points, Lincoln High finished fourth with 20 points and Southern Valley finished fifth with 13 points.

The Beatrice girls finished with 34 points, which put them behind Lexington's 45 points. Columbus Scotus was third with 14 points while Lincoln High was fourth with five points.
Lexington was runner-up in the co-ed competition.
The invite had a total of 90 lifters from four teams. Beatrice had a total of 27 lifters at the meet.
The meet consists of students competing in three different lifts -- squats, bench press and dead lift. Last year, Beatrice hosted the State Powerlifting Meet at the Ozone.
"I was very pleased with our overall effort and performance," said Beatrice Powerlifting Coach Kevin Meyer. "Many of our BHS lifters earned PR's or personal records."
Beatrice will compete on Feb. 25 at the Peru State Invite and then host the Class B State Power Lifting Meet on March 4.
