Beatrice fell behind early and never recovered Friday night against Class B No. 1 ranked McCook.
After a nightmarish first quarter for the Orangemen, the Bison were able to coast to a 63-3 win in McCook.
Beatrice fell behind 42-0 in the first quarter. On the first play of the first possession of the game, Beatrice lost a fumble and two plays later, McCook rumbled into the end zone to take a 7-0 lead just 30 seconds into the game.
Beatrice was forced to punt on their next drive and it took McCook three plays to score again, making it 14-0.
The Orangemen offense was forced to punt again on their next drive, but the punt was blocked. McCook scooped it up and ran it in for a touchdown, making it 21-0. Beatrice then fumbled the ensuing kickoff and the Bison recovered. They connected for a 21-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the drive, making it 28-0
On the third play of Beatrice’s next offensive drive, McCook was able to intercept a pass and run it all the way back for a touchdown, making it 35-0.
McCook was able to put together one more lengthy scoring drive together at the end of the first quarter, making it 42-0.
A nice Beatrice drive led to a 26-yard field goal by Diego Rodriguez, making it 42-3 early in the second quarter, but McCook scored one more touchdown before the half to make it 49-3.
With a running clock in the second half, McCook was able to score two more touchdowns to make the final score 63-3.
Beatrice falls to 0-4 on the season and will be in action again on Friday when they host York for their homecoming game.
