BHS wrestlers finish runner-up at home meet

The Beatrice wrestling team finished runner-up at their home invite on Saturday.

"The kids wrestled really hard and battled well," said Beatrice coach Jordan Johnson. "There are always some matches you would like to have back,  but all we can do is just fix things and move forward. There were some great wrestlers at this competition that will only help us moving forward."

Beatrice had three individuals win their respective weight classes. Drew Arnold, who is ranked No. 1 in Class B in the 120-pound division, won hisfirst two matches by pinfall before winning two straight technical falls. His final win was a 7-0 decision.

"Drew beat the No. 6 guy in Class B in his final match," Johnson said.

Jarrett Koch was victorious  in the 152-pound division. He won all five of his matches by pinfall.

"Jarrett (Koch) pinned his way through the tournament," Johnson said. "He is really having a great season."
