A number of Sunland area girls basketball teams will open subdistrict play Monday and Tuesday.
In the Class C1-1 Subdistrict at Johnson-Brock, Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer will face Auburn Monday at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to face top-seeded Lincoln Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the subdistrict semifinals. In the other semifinal, Syracuse will take on Falls City at 7:45 p.m. The C1-1 Subdistrict final is slated for Thursday at 7 p.m.
Fairbury and Wilber-Clatonia will square off in the C1-6 Subdistrict at York Monday at 7:30 p.m. The winner will advance to take on top-seeded Hastings St. Cecilia Tuesday at 6 p.m. In the other semifinal Tuesday, Geneva-Fillmore Central will face Hastings Adams Central at 7:45 p.m. The C1-6 Subdistrict final is slated for 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Tecumseh-Johnson County Central, DeWitt Tri County and Wymore Southern will all be playing in the C2-4 Subdistrict at Auburn. Johnson County will take on Johnson-Brock Monday at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing to take on top-seeded Tri County Tuesday at 6 p.m. In the other semifinal Tuesday, Southern will face Nebraska City Lourdes at 7:45 p.m. The C2-4 Subdistrict final is set for 7 p.m. Thursday.
Five Sunland area schools make up the D1-2 Subdistrict field at Wilber-Clatonia. On Monday, Daykin Meridian will face off with Pawnee City at 6:30 p.m. The winner will advance to take on top-seeded Diller-Odell Tuesday at 6 p.m. In the other semifinal Tuesday, Freeman will take on Lewiston at 7:45 p.m. The D1-2 Subdistrict final is slated for 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Sterling’s Lady Jets will play in the D2-1 Subdistrict at Fairbury. Sterling will face the winner of Monday night’s Bruning-Davenport/Shickley game at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. In the other semifinal Tuesday, top-seeded Falls City Sacred Heart will take on the winner of Monday night’s McCool Junction/Lincoln Parkview Christian game at 6 p.m. The D2-1 Subdistrict final is set for 7 p.m. Thursday.
