Beatrice won games over Omaha Gross and Omaha Skutt on Friday to advance to Saturday's Class B State Championship game.
The tournament was originally scheduled to conclude on Friday, but rainy conditions early in the day on Friday forced a multi-hour delay in Hastings.
The Lady O picked up a come-from-behind 7-6 win over Omaha Gross in their first elimination game. They then avenged their first loss of the tournament to Omaha Skutt by eliminating the SkyHawks 9-6 to advance to the championship.
Beatrice will play Elkhorn at 10 a.m. on Saturday and will have to beat the Lady Antlers twice to claim the Class B crown.
Beatrice wasted no time building a lead on Omaha Skutt Friday night. They scored four runs in the first inning. Whitney Schwisow got things going with a one out double. Addie Barnard then walked and one run scored on Ashton Sandman's RBI double, but Barnard was thrown out at home trying to score on the same play.
Hannah Lytle kept the rally going with a walk and Reganne Henning followed that up with a three-run home run to make it 4-0 after just a half inning.
Beatrice added two more runs in the second inning -- both with two outs. Olivia Aden double and then scored when Whitney Schwisow reached on an error.
Barnard then walked and another run scored when Ashton Sandman reached on an error, making it 6-0.
Omaha Skutt blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the second and then scored another run in the bottom of the third to make it 6-2.
Beatrice's offense was relentless, though. In the top of the fourth, Jaci Berke led off with another home run to make it 7-2.
Later in the inning, Schwisow was hit by a pitch, Barnard singled and Sandman was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Henning's two out, two-RBI single made it 9-2
Omaha Skutt scored one run in the fifth inning and three more runs in the sixth inning to make it 9-6.
Barnard would retire Omaha Skutt in order in the seventh, though, to seal the win for the Lady O.
Bailey Green pitched the first 5.1 innings for the Lady O while Barnard finished it off.
Beatrice was down to their final three outs facing a three run deficit in their elimination game against Omaha Gross earlier on Friday.
Trailing 6-3, Beatrice was able to rally for four runs in the bottom of the seventh to win 7-6.
Tavia Hausman got the rally started with a single and then scored on Jaci Berke's two-run home run, making it 6-5.
Rylee Pangborn then came through with a pinch hit single. After an out was recorded, Whitney Schwisow walked and Addie Barnard knocked her in with an RBI double, tying the game at 6-6.
Ashton Sandman was intentionally walked to load the bases with one out. Hannah Lytle's sacrifice fly to deep center field brought in the winning run for the Lady O.
Ashton Sandman also had a home run in the game as well as a double and two RBI's. Reganne Henning had a single and an RBI.
Barnard pitched five innings, giving up four earned runs on seven hits while striking out nine and walking five. Bailey Green pitched the last two innings, giving up two unearned runs on three hits while striking out one and walking one.
Beatrice's last appearance in a state championship game was 2011. They will try to capture their fourth state championship in school history. Their previous three championships were in 2000, 2001 and 2003.
