Lady O gets sweep of Fairbury


FAIRBURY --The Beatrice volleyball team handled Fairbury Thursday night in three sets.

The Lady O won the match 25-12, 25-16, 25-22 at Fairbury High School, improving their record to 8-4 on the season.

Devyn Burroughs led the way for Beatrice with 14 kills while Kaitlyn Church had eight kills and Mariah Allen and Sadie Glynn had six kills each. Chelsea Leners and Jaiden Coudeyras had two kills each. Coudeyras had 31 assists.

Beatrice had a total of eight ace serves in the match, including four from Sadie Glynn. Church had three aces and Allen had one ace.

Defensively, Burroughs was in on three blocks while Coudeyras and Church were in on two blocks. Glynn and Leners were in on one block each.

Mak Hatcliff had 13 digs for the Lady O while Coudeyras had 11 digs and Allen had 10 digs.

The Beatrice volleyball team will be in action again on Tuesday when they travel to a triangular at Omaha Concordia. Bennington will be the third team in that triangular.

Diller-Odell stays undefeated

Class D1 No. 1 ranked Diller-Odell stayed undefeated with a sweep of Tri County on Thursday.

The Lady Griffins won the match 25-10, 25-10, 25-6 in Odell.

Mackenzie Vitosh had 13 kills for Diller-Odell while Karli Heidemann had 11 kills, Emily Swanson had six kills and Addison Heidemann and Madelyn Meyerle had one kill each. Addison Heidemann had 17 assists.

Diller-Odell had 17 ace serves in the match, including 10 from Addison Heidemann and seven from Vitosh.

Diller-Odell improves their record to 13-0 on the season and will play in the Axtell, Kansas Tournament this weekend. Tri County falls to 4-7 on the season.
