Two new coaches have been named at Beatrice High School.
Melissa Carper will return to be the head coach of the Beatrice volleyball team while David Henning will be the head boys soccer coach.
Carper takes over for Cara Williams, who served as the Beatrice volleyball coach for the last two years. Williams has accepted a new job coaching Johnson-Brock.
Carper was previously the head coach for the Lady O from 2007-2014. She stayed on as an assistant under Melissa Buss for one season and for Williams for the last two seasons. She served as an interim head coach in 2018 when Williams was on paternity leave. Carper is also a physical education teach at BHS.
The Beatrice volleyball team finished with a 16-13 record in 2018.

David Henning takes over for Corey Wells as the head boys soccer coach. Wells served as the head coach for 10 years.
Henning is a 2003 graduate of Beatrice High School and he comes to Beatrice from Norris High School, where he served as a teacher and coach. Henning will teach science at Beatrice.
Henning also previously served as an assistant coach for the Beatrice girls soccer team for two seasons under Greg Sederberg.
A tough schedule for the Orangemen in 2019 led to a 2-12 overall record.
Beatrice High School is still seeking applicants for the head girls tennis coach. Applicants should submit resume and letter of interest to BHS Athletic Director Neal Randel.
