OMAHA -- The Beatrice boys tennis team bounced back from Tuesday's loss against York by beating Omaha Gross on Thursday 7-2.

Despite the win, Beatrice coach Karen Dittbrenner said her team's play wasn't nearly as solid as it needs to be, saying they didn't adjust well from York's hard hitting style to Omaha Gross' style.

"(Omaha Gross') style is less powerful and more about just getting the ball into play and waiting for their opponent to make the mistake," Dittbrenner said. "This gave us fits with the timing of our hits and we made some unforced errors that we have got to get a handle on."

All three doubles teams managed to win against Omaha Gross on Thursday. Dittbrenner said it was especially nice to see the No. 3 team of Connor Freitag and Max Meyer get a win.

"Their focus is more on their singles games, but we need them to find a way to pick up that point in duals," Dittbrenner said. "Today, they figured out a few more details and got the win."

The No. 1 team of Colt Dittbrenner and Zack Zimmerman won as did the No. 2 team of Connor Kelley and Dawson Saathoff.

Picking up singles win for Beatrice was Max Meyer winning 8-4 at No. 2 singles, Colt Dittbrenner winning 8-5 at No. 3 singles, Connor Kelley winning 8-4 at No. 5 singles and Zack Zimmerman winning 8-2 at No. 6 singles.

Beatrice will be in action again on Tuesday when they host Ralston at Hannibal Park in Beatrice.
