Record breaker: Kearney goalkeeper Jacob Hardy has set an all-class state record for career shutouts with 40. The previous record was 39 by Evan Chohon of Columbus Scotus (2014-17).

Comments: There looks to be a lot of even teams in Class B boys this year after the top five, with 17 teams in consideration for the top 10 this week. Omaha Skutt’s only loss is to Creighton Prep. Columbus Scotus is on a six-match winning streak and moves into the top 10.

Games to watch: Thursday—Waverly at Gretna. Saturday—Central Conference Tournament championship.

Comments: Millard West survived the grind that is the Metro Conference Tournament to win the championship. The Wildcats had to win four games in five days and beat three ranked teams, including No. 2 Omaha Marian 3-0 in the title match. Kearney moves into the ratings after an impressive 4-1 win against Lincoln Southeast.

Games to watch: Saturday—Lincoln East at Lincoln Pius X. Monday—Millard West at Papillion-La Vista, Lincoln Southwest at Kearney.

Games to watch: Saturday—Waverly at Omaha Gross. Monday—Omaha Duchesne at Columbus Scotus.
